Sometimes the equipment value exceeds our removal cost and you receive a check. On older, stripped or badly access-restricted Chicago scopes, the removal cost exceeds the value and the project nets near zero or a modest fee. Illinois note
Chicago and its collar counties give us the widest range of equipment on this site, from century-old switchgear in loft conversions to switchboards pulled out of Loop high-rises still under warranty. The industrial ring through Joliet, Cicero and the Calumet side runs railcar, tank and metals operations with heavy motor loads. Downstate is a different business entirely: the agricultural processing plants at Decatur and Peoria, the Ameren Illinois distribution system and the refineries in the southwest corner. When do we get paid?
Before the equipment leaves your Chicago dock. Wire, company check or cashier's check, whichever your accounting group prefers. On large phased projects we pay per load as it ships rather than holding everything until the end.
What if the equipment is old or has no test records?
We still quote it. Records raise the number — a NETA test report on a breaker or a transformer is the single document that most improves what we can pay — but their absence disqualifies nothing. We price Chicago equipment on what our technicians and the replacement market say it is worth.
Are you insured to work inside our Chicago facility?
Yes. We carry general liability, auto, workers' compensation and umbrella coverage, and we issue a certificate naming your entity as additional insured before crews mobilize to Chicago. We also complete vendor onboarding, background checks and site-specific safety orientation on request.
Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Chicago?
