The plants that close outright release whole electrical scopes, including gear from the 1960s and 70s that operators elsewhere are still hunting to match. Grand Rapids office furniture and food processing, the Midland chemical complex and the foundries around Saginaw and Muskegon add to it. DTE Energy and Consumers Energy both run large distribution replacement programs. Michigan is also where we see the most unit substations still sitting energized on the pad, which is fine — we handle the de-energized removal.
If the Flint equipment is still carrying load, we phase it. Usually that means dead sections and spares first, then distribution as circuits are released, then the main line-up once the last feeder is isolated. The phasing goes into the offer so nobody is improvising in an energized room at two in the morning.

What it is worth
Copper is the floor under most of this equipment, and it is a floor that moves. Bus bar, windings and feeder cable set a minimum value we can always pay on a Flint lot; resale demand for the specific make and model is what lifts the offer above it. Obsolete breakers and discontinued panelboard interiors are the clearest example — unglamorous parts that plants cannot buy new anywhere.

Can you work nights, weekends or during a shutdown in Flint?
Regularly. Most electrical removals happen outside production hours because that is when circuits can be released. Night, weekend, holiday and turnaround windows in Flint are normal scheduling for us, not a premium service.
What happens to the equipment after you buy it?
